Eyewitness Accounts Of Jesus' Birth

He Sent His Son: Eyewitness Accounts

He Sent His Son: Eyewitness Accounts by Jim & Carol Zeigler takes readers through a delightful experience of eyewitness accounts taken from the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ birth in Luke and Matthew.

Beginning with the announcement of the Angel Gabriel to Mary, readers will gain keen insight into the sharing of the events leading up to and following the birth of Christ. Concisely written, the author highlights the true meaning of Christmas, the salvation of Jesus and what that means to those who believe and those who would not believe.

Jesus’ birth and His coming as the Messiah was foretold in the Bible as the author gives insight into the Jewish traditions, the names and meanings of some of the Hebrew names of God while speaking of the hope in the One who was born to save all who would believe upon His Name.

Revealing the political and religious climate in Jesus’ time, and mentioning historical aspects of the Bible, Jesus’ prophesied coming in Isaiah, coupled with the events leading up to Jesus’ birth make for a faith-filled journey.

As Christmas is just around the corner, the author speaks of Christmas as one of his favorite holidays. Yet, traditionally speaking, he describes Christmas as a time of benevolence, gift-giving and time with family. This “worldly” way and commercializing of Christmas has crowded out the holiness and honor that this season holds for each person who believes (and for those who do not yet believe). He speaks of the Christmas holiday that has become nothing more than a greedy intent to bring money surrounded by false traditions and stories such as Santa Claus, the Elves and Reindeer. (One cannot dispel the fact that he speaks truth about the Christmas season and what the commercialism, not to mention spending money that we don’t have). Thus, the purpose of the book is to remind and teach others of the sanctity of Christmas and point those to the Messiah that was born to die for His People’s sins.

The author states (speaking about Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, the Wise Men, the Inn Keeper, Herod, Isaiah, Simeon and Anna, “We can learn from them the way we are to live our lives, believing God will always accomplish His will. We need to live expecting His appearance anytime.” Powerfully written, this book will speak to your heart and mind, bringing such a deep appreciation for the salvation of Jesus.

With such chapters as: Gabriel-The Angel Sent from God to Announce the Coming of Messiah, Mary-The Young Mother of Jesus, Joseph-The Stepfather Who Raised Jesus, The Innkeeper-Unknown by Name and Oft Maligned, The Shepherds-Those Who Were Looking for His Coming, Isaiah-The Prophet Who Told Israel How to Recognize the Good King, The Wise Men-Who Followed the Star to Find the King, Herod-The Evil False King of Judah, Simeon-Who Waited for the Consolation of Israel, and Anna-The Prophetess Who Served in the Temple.

This is a wonderful book to read during this coming Christmas season, to give to family and friends, and to teach children the deep blessing of Christmas or just to reinvigorate faith. Hats off to these writers who took the time to remind us all just how important and wonderful this season is!

This book also comes highly recommended to use an evangelical outreach to those that would need the faith to believe. He Sent His Son is an excellent faith-filled journey through the birth of Christ that will not only rekindle faith, but also birth faith in others to believe in the salvation of Jesus as the Savior and Messiah of the World!
